John Bradshaw - Addiction Is Powerful
As recently as five years ago, one in five adults in the world smoked. In most western countries, the rate of smoking has declined dramatically in recent years. Gone are the days of giving free cigarettes to soldiers or doctors prescribing tobacco but you can be shocked when you travel to other countries and see how many people are smoking; that is killing themselves.
By now, everybody knows that smoking is harmful, it's gross, it's expensive and it strains health systems. But addiction is powerful. People get addicted to sin just as some are addicted to nicotine or alcohol, but there's a power greater than addiction to sin and that's Jesus. He said in John 8:36 "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed".
Whatever the sin may be you can choose Jesus and you can say, "Gone are the days that I was addicted to sin". I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
