John Bradshaw - You Don't Have to Change Your Views
In a changing world it can be a challenge to maintain your biblical standards, when people around you are changing with society. It's a real issue. Family or friends might change their views, tempting you to do the same out of what they might think is compassion or kindness. But there isn't a need to compromise just because others do so. You don't have to change because society is changing. But you do want to be kind always.
"Give none offense", Paul wrote, "Neither to the Jews, nor the gentiles, nor to the church of God", that's first Corinthians 10 verse 32. Yet Paul was direct and uncompromising in preaching the word.
The balancing act is to be true to principle, but to always be kind and loving. If it sounds difficult, keep in mind that Jesus makes you a promise. He promises to live his life in you, therefore it can be done. I'm John Bradshaw, for It Is Written.
