John Bradshaw - Judgment Is Easy
Judgment is easy: you see someone break a commandment, that person is a commandment breaker simple. In fact, that person has judged themselves. But there's often far more to a situation like that than meets the eye. That person may well be going through a deep personal struggle, carrying a heavy burden. It's important to remember that compassion, kindness, and sympathy are far more productive than passing judgment.
The woman at the well was a sinner, and yet Jesus was compassionate. The demon-possessed man - same. Jesus said in John 7:24, "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment".
It's easy to judge, but it takes a little more to be like Jesus. That person struggling needs love and support more than they need someone to tell them or to tell someone else how bad they are. I'm John Bradshaw, for It Is Written.
