John Bradshaw - Self-Sacrifice
That person who's a thief, or a gambler, or a drinker and enjoys those things but wants to honor God and wants to go to heaven is at some stage going to have to make the decision that those things have to go, and that's a challenge.
You lose your temper, and you become accustomed to doing so; change isn't easy, so you need to embrace the idea of self-sacrifice. Christianity has little to do with indulging your own wants and desires; instead it's about coming into harmony with God's wants and desires for you and your life.
Colossians 3:3 says, "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God". We yield our desires in favor of God's will. That can hurt, but not nearly as much as sin hurts, and don't think it's not possible. You make the decision, you surrender your will, and God provides the power. I'm John Bradshaw, for It Is Written.
