John Bradshaw - Dying to Self
In Galatians chapter 2 Paul says, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live". He's talking about dying to self. So, how do you die to self? In Romans 6:11 he says, "Reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord".
Reckon yourself, consider yourself, believe yourself to be dead to sin. If I believe I'm dead to sin, I'm dead to sin. That's it. You make a decision through faith, and you believe it is so. You choose to be dead to sin, you choose to be dead to the world, and in doing so you are choosing to be alive in Jesus.
You're saying, "I choose to be dead to sin. I choose to allow Jesus to take over and live in my life". This isn't mind over matter, it's faith. Believe you're dead to sin, invite Jesus to live in your life, and it'll be so. I'm John Bradshaw, for It Is Written.
