John Bradshaw - For Your Spiritual Well-being
Jesus message to the church of Laodicea is not for the faint of heart: "Your lukewarm, I'll vomit you out of my mouth". But Jesus also offered Laodicea the solution they desperately needed: faith that works by love, the righteousness of Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
Notice what he says in Revelation 3:19, "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore, be zealous and repent".
Jesus says what he says out of love. Too often parents discipline their children out of anger, which backfires and produces frustrated angry kids. Jesus doesn't do that. He corrects because he loves. The word "Discipline" is derived from the word "Disciple".
Jesus corrects us so we'll be true disciples. If you experience God's correction, remember that what God allows, he allows only for your spiritual well-being. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written
