John Bradshaw - Let's Understand Something About God
A young men recently told me he couldn't be used by God, because he'd made some pretty serious mistakes over the years. So, let's understand something about God: he called Israel into being and Saul failed, David failed, Solomon really failed, Rehoboam split Israel in two literally. Rehoboam's son was a disaster. Asa was better, but far from perfect. On the other side Ahab did more to offend God than any king before him, leading the entire nation in rebellion against God.
This went on for generations, and what was in God's heart? He raised up prophets such as Elijah, who said, "How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him" - 1st Kings 18:21.
