John Bradshaw - Vomited Out
We don't often talk together about vomiting, do we? So, let's do that for just a moment. In the message the church of Laodicea, Jesus says, "So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth" - Revelation 3:16.
Now, if you'll allow me, vomiting is not ordinarily a voluntary action, it usually warns you it's coming and then, away you go. So, when Jesus says he will vomit lukewarm believers out of his mouth, he's really saying this is something he simply has to do. He doesn't really have a choice in this, because lukewarm water tends to have a certain emetic quality about it. This just makes him sick. Not in an angry way, but in an unavoidable way.
Those who don't surrender their lives to Jesus simply cannot be saved. That's something that troubles Jesus more than anyone. I'm John Bradshaw, for It Is Written.
