John Bradshaw - Indifferent
Jesus speaks to the church at Laodicea and shares a deep concern; he says, "I know your works, that you are not a cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot," Revelation 3:15.
Interesting imagery given the geography of that area Laodicea was near Hierapolis where hot thermal water still flows today; just to the east of Laodicea was Colossae the home of the Colossians. Their water was mountain fed and cold; the mountains around that Valley are around 8,000 feet tall much of the Colossian's water was snow melted.
Jesus says to Laodicea: you're not hot like the water at Hierapolis, you're not cold like the water at Colossae. Laodicea was spiritually indifferent, and the last thing you want to be is indifferent about faith. Jesus is coming back soon really, and eternity stretches before us, nothing is more important. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
