John Bradshaw - He Won't Forsake You
Imagine you're the third King in Israel's history, the son of a mighty man. You've given incredible wisdom, and you become very powerful. And then you blow it, turning your back on the God who appeared to you twice, trashing God's name, marinating in immorality and idol worship. What would you expect God's response to be?
Most parents would kick that kid out of the house, yet Isaiah said in Isaiah 55:7, "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man has thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon".
God abundantly pardoned Solomon. No wonder Solomon called God higher than the highest. As deep as Solomon sank into sin, God never turned his back on him. That's God. God didn't forsake Solomon, and you can know for sure, he will never forsake you. I'm John Bradshaw, for It Is Written.
