John Bradshaw - The Fake Guru
When filmmaker Vikram Gandhi created a new persona as an Indian Guru, it didn't take long for him to attract followers who were convinced he had profoundly affected their lives. Even though everything he taught was fake: his character, the story of his origins, even symbols and phrases he used, all fake; but there were people who fell for it. Demonstrating several things:
1. People have a deep longing for a spiritual experience.
2. There are a lot of people attracted to eastern religions.
3. There's no shortage of people who will believe nonsense without checking to see if it's true.
The Bible on the other hand is verifiable, Christianity checks out; Jesus lived here on this earth, and the book God gave us has stood the test of time.
