John Bradshaw - Don't Waste Your Time
Americans spend somewhere between 35 and 50 billion dollars a year on vitamins and minerals, and similar substances. No doubt some vitamins are helpful, maybe even necessary, but experts say again and again that multivitamins are mostly useless and don't necessarily make you any healthier; it's money down the drain, quite literally.
We might look at this from a spiritual perspective. Isaiah 55:2 says, "Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy"?
I wonder what we'd find if we did an inventory of the time we spend and the money we invest? How much of it do you think would be "not bread" to quote Isaiah? Surely we want our decisions to advance us towards heaven, ask God to work in your life so that you're investing your time and your talents in something worthwhile, investing time and energy in eternity.
