John Bradshaw - We Can Learn From That
It was their darkest hour; the Bible says it was midnight, and it was really midnight for Paul and Silas; they'd been beaten and imprisoned, their feet held fast in stocks, their crime, preaching the gospel, meaning this was horribly unjust. So how'd they react?
Acts 16:25, "And at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them". Isn't that something? In fact, it's more than something, it's instructive. This is God helping us understand how we should react when trials come, not that you don't realize how serious something is. You should, but one should also realize the seriousness of being a child of God.
Circumstances shouldn't be the end of your faith, too often they are for people. When things were terrible for Paul and Silas, they prayed and sang praises. We can learn from that, in fact those preparing for eternity must learn from that. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
