John Bradshaw - A Mansion in Ruins
On the banks of lake Temiskaming, over 250 miles north of Toronto, Canada, there's a 65,000 square foot mansion sitting on 43 acres, and it's in ruins. The recession in 2008 was disastrous for the man who was building the mansion, and it was never finished, which reminds me of Luke 14:28 where Jesus said, "For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it".
You want to be able to finish the job you start, and Jesus here is talking about discipleship and commitment. In the same passage, he says that a person who follows Jesus must be willing to forsake all to follow him.
The point for us today is that if we're not all in with Jesus, we're not in at all. Let the God of heaven have all of you today. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
