John Bradshaw - Why Don't We See More of the Holy Spirit?
In Acts chapter 1, Jesus tells his followers that they would be his witnesses unto the uttermost part of the earth. In order to make that happen, Jesus poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:4, "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance".
In order for them to carry out their mission, God gave the Holy Spirit. After this, they healed people, and raised the dead, and preached boldly, and were released from prison. The Spirit of God was given to add power and effectiveness to the mission of the church. One reason we don't see more of the Holy Spirit's power among us, is that the church doesn't do nearly enough to warrant the Holy Spirit's power. Put yourself where you need the Holy Spirit, and watch what God does. If you're in a place where you need the power of the Holy Spirit to work for you, through you, in you, that's what will happen.
