So what is the standard of good that we are to trust in? Did you ever stop and think about it? What's our standard? Well, 2nd Timothy, Paul’s very last letter before he goes to heaven, says this: all Scripture—everybody say, "all Scripture"—all Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true, or we could say good, to make us realize what is wrong, or bad, in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong, or bad, and teaches us to do what is right, or good. Now look what he says: all Scripture—say it again, "all Scripture." He's not saying some Scripture; he says all Scripture. Now, this is the way I look at it: either all Scripture is inspired of God, or we've got a flawed book because if Scripture says all Scripture is inspired by God, then I can't just choose and pick and throw things out.
