Who wants to become great? Now, let's just stop right there. Remember, these words are right out of Jesus's mouth. Now, I want you to look at this: whoever wants to become great. Now, I see so many Christians who are so down on being great; they think that everyone is supposed to be humble. Yes, everyone is supposed to be humble, and that includes believers. However, being humble means being very lowly, without reputation, and not significant or impactful. So, look, Jesus is not saying to be like that; He’s saying, "Whoever wants to become great."
Let me show you a verse of scripture here in Proverbs. This is amazing! God says in Proverbs that getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do. Getting the Word of God into your heart and gaining the wisdom of God is the most important thing you can do. The Bible says it’s better than riches, better than honor, and better than long life, and it gives all of that to you if you pursue it. But look at what He goes on to say. I love this! Solomon says, "Love wisdom, and she will make you great." Why would God tell you that His wisdom will make you great if He didn't want you to be great? I want you to think about that: God wants you to be great.
