John Bevere - What Is Revelation Knowledge
TOPICS: Revelation, Knowledge

What is revelation? Not its, it’s when God reveals something to you. When does it happen? It can happen in your morning time with God. It can happen while you’re reading the Scripture. It can happen while you’re listening to your pastor preaching. It can happen while you’re reading an anointed book. It can happen in a dream. It can happen just while you’re sitting in a car in traffic. It can happen while you’re in the shower. It’s when God, you’ve been seeking or you’ve turned your heart towards God, and He drops something in you that is a part of you now that nobody can ever take out of you. Sometimes it’s a small voice; most often for me, it’s a knowing.

Just all of a sudden, I know. With my wife, it’s been a dream; with me, it’s been a dream. Sometimes it’s a vision—a sheet comes down from heaven, a screen. There are all different kinds of ways. With Peter, it might have happened while Jesus was healing something. All of a sudden, he went, «Oh my gosh, I remember when my Rabbi said the Messiah, when he comes, he will bear our infirmities and heal our sicknesses. He’s the Messiah!» And that explosion went off on the inside of him. You see how important it is? Because later on, Jesus is preaching something so hard that it’s really tough on these Jewish guys. He says, «If you don’t eat my flesh and drink my blood, you don’t have anything to do with me.»

And you know what? We’re not talking multitudes; we’re talking team members leaving. They said, «This is too strong; we’re out of here.» And Jesus looks at the twelve and says, «You go too.» And they’re all sitting there, and they’ve got nothing to say because they’re a little torn. But Peter’s the only one that could speak up because he said, «Hey, you’re the Christ. We’ve come to learn you’re the Christ, and you have the words of eternal life. Where else can we go?» You know what he’s saying? «I don’t like what you’re saying either, but I know you’re the Christ. You can’t take that from me; it was revealed to me.» He’s the only one that could answer.
