Step two is he negates the Word of God. So step one, he gets her eyes off of all that God's given her. Step two, he negates the Word. Step three, this is the clincher. Look what happens. Serpent says, "For God knows". Everybody say, "God knows". In other words, God is withholding something from you. He is hiding something from you. For God knows the day you eat of it, your eyes will be open. She's looking at this tree. It's good. And the serpent comes along and says, "For God knows". And she goes, "Wait a minute. There is something good in that tree for my husband and I that God's withholding". So you know what he's done? He's perverted the character of God in her eyes. He makes him look like a taker instead of the giver that he is.
