What do you do when life gets hard? Like when you run into an obstacle in your life or in your faith and you're not sure how to move past it. Do you just throw in the towel? Or do you keep trying and moving forward? If so, how? That's exactly what we're talking about today.
In this past week's message, we talked about the ridiculous obstacles the people of Israel had to overcome to take the Promised Land. And every step of the way, they continued to trust God. But what about you? When you face obstacles, what will you do? Because, this life of following Jesus is often compared to a race. And the Apostle Paul says this, "Don't you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win. All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So run with purpose in every step".
Now, as you can tell, we're in a little bit of a different location today. All of that is on purpose though, because we're going to use real life obstacles to demonstrate how we can overcome the obstacles in our life and our faith through four ways. Way number one is to just keep trying. Way number two is to ask for help. The third way is to find another option. And then the fourth way is to take a break and try again later.
