If a member of your family has an addiction, chances are high that your life is chaotic and out of control. The one who is strung out on drugs or alcohol without a doubt needs help, but what about those who love and care for the addict?
Now, while in high school, my guest today shattered both of his legs, his hips, and ankles in a tragic car wreck that left him paralyzed for months. His dreams of a sports career were crushed. He developed a severe addiction to painkillers that eventually led to an addiction to heroin by the age of 20.
Now, in the years since, he's working to win his battle with addiction, and the ordeal has left him severely depressed, and he feels unworthy of love. His girlfriend has been supporting him financially and emotionally, but is just not sure where to go from here.
