Creflo Dollar — How to Overcome Shame
Shame is a powerful emotion caused by a consciousness of guilt or shortcoming, an emotion caused by a consciousness of guilt. You're maintaining guilt and/or a shortcoming. What has to happen in the life of a believer where a believer can stand up, and he says, I know I shall not be ashamed.
When you trust and have faith that God is my help, that God has taken my shame, that God has already dealt with it, I know I shall not be ashamed. I got to tell you, church, it's time for the joy of the Lord to show up in our lives as a result of what Jesus has done for us because we owe nobody for the sin in our lives. Jesus has already taken care of the sin.
How many of you know the most successful people in the world failed a whole lot before they saw the success? Didn't make them a failure. Just challenged them to be tenacious and not to quit.
Shame is designed to somehow turn the guilt on you to see if it can paralyze you and make you stop in your tracks and make you quit so you won't finish your course.
There's a charge to keep I have. There's a God to glorify. There's something you're supposed to be. There's a destination you're supposed to reach. There's an assignment and a meeting place. There's somebody somewhere that God has designed to come here.
You don't even know yet, but when they come here here and you come here here, and then there's this place where y'all are supposed to meet, and impact takes place, and it robs the devil of what he can do. And what's why Satan wants to shame you, because you are a powerful person that's about to have impact somewhere with somebody!
