Bobby Chandler - The Mystery Gift
- Watch

Summary:
In the final message of «The Gift of Rest,» the preacher reveals the ultimate mystery of the Sabbath and Jubilee: Jesus Himself is the fulfillment, proclaiming liberty, forgiveness of debts (sins), and true rest. Drawing from Leviticus 25 and Luke 4, he explains the Jubilee (every 50th year) as total debt cancellation and freedom, foreshadowing Christ’s atonement and return. Jesus declares Himself the Jubilee in His hometown synagogue, offering spiritual rest, but many rejected the inner gift while observing external rituals. Ultimately, Jesus is the Lamb who forgives and the returning Lion of Judah who will bring final justice and restoration.
Enjoying the Series and Mystery Gifts
We have been in an incredible series. I have really enjoyed teaching this series. The series title is «The Gift of Rest» because rest is a gift from God. Will you say that with me one more time? Rest is a gift from God.
Now, before I dive into the scripture—and I’ve got a lot of cool things to show you guys today—I want to do something fun. I want to ask you a question: Has anybody ever heard of the concept of a mystery gift? Raise your hand. Have you ever heard of a mystery gift? I feel like it became really popular because of YouTubers and all that kind of stuff. But get this, this is crazy: there is a concept out there where people have spent $20,000 to $50,000, even $100,000, on a gift where they have no clue what’s on the inside. Can you imagine that? You see it all over YouTube; people are like, «What’s in the gift?» «How much did you spend?» «50,000? You’re crazy! I would never spend that much on something I don’t even know what it is.»
But when my oldest son, Micah, was growing up, he really loved the idea of those mystery bags. Any parents in the room know what it’s like to keep going out because of these awesome YouTubers who keep telling our kids to buy these mystery bags? So he would go out and collect these. He’d get the superhero version or the Lego version or whatever the thing is. Things are pretty pricey; I would spend about $5 to $20 sometimes on a mystery bag where we had no clue what it was. At first, it was really cute; he’d be like, «Oh yeah, look what I got! I got Spider-Man!» It was cute until he said, «Alright, let’s get another one.» Later on, we got another one and he came home and goes, «Oh, we got Spider-Man again. I guess we’ll just throw it away.» I said, «No, you’re not! No, no, no, no, no! You’re going to bless somebody or you’re going to collect them all because, glory to God, I was able to pay $20 for that toy today and we’re going to value it!» So because of that, we became a little obsessed.
Okay, there are got to be tips and tricks on how to figure this out. I remember going to the store and Micah’s like, «Let’s look at the numbers. Is the number different on that one?» I don’t know; this one might be Spider-Man, this one might be Iron Man. Fill around. «Does that feel like—? I think that’s Captain America!» You know what I mean? We almost got to the point like, «Does it smell different?» Like, no, we didn’t go that far, but I wanted to make sure if I’m going to spend my money on something I know what he’s getting and I know that he doesn’t already have it.
It is a crazy concept—the idea of a mystery gift and how much money people will spend to get a gift that they don’t really even know what it is. So we’ve been talking about this gift that God has given you, this gift of rest. I feel like it’s been an incredible series because I’ve been teaching you some things that a lot of Christians just don’t know about—biblical principles when it comes to rest and the gift that God is trying to give us. But today, I’m going to show you that there is a mystery gift in the Sabbath, that there is something to uncover today that is extraordinary, and it will change your life. It is the reason God cares so much about rest in your life.
Recap of the Series
So let me do a quick recap because we’ve learned a lot so far. God took resting so seriously that He created what many would call the sabbatical cycle. Okay? God worked for six days—in Genesis, it tells us this—God worked for six days, and on the seventh day, He rested. Okay? So this is the Sabbath, and God instructed His people to make sure to take a Sabbath. What does that mean? It means on this day, set it apart from any other day. Make it holy. How do you make it holy? You honor God. It is that simple. You honor God, you sit back, you relax, you look at all that God has done, and you say, «Thank you! Thank you for my family. Thank you, God, for everything that you’ve given me. Do you have health today? Thank you, Father, for the food that’s in my pantry, even though my kids keep eating it up. Will you please do something about that? You know, thank you, God, for everything that you’ve done.» And you’re just honoring God with the blessings in your life.
This was given to us because of Exodus 20:8. It was a commandment to God’s people. The New Living Translation states, «Remember to observe the Sabbath day by doing what? By keeping it holy.» To set it apart, it is taking your hands off of your work schedule for one day. One day, Lord, I’m going to trust you and just be thankful and do something different.
If you were here last week, we talked about something that requires a little bit more faith. I asked you this question: What would you do if God told you not to work for an entire year? How many of you would struggle with that? Raise your hand. Don’t worry. For an entire year? Put your hands down. How many of you would love that? Be like, «God told me to rest for a year; I’m not touching nothing.» All right? This is something that God told His people to do. Imagine that! For an entire year, you can’t work the land. Leave the land alone and trust that God will provide your income and your food and supply all of your needs. In fact, it’s so extraordinary to me because what they were believing is that in the sixth year, they believed that a supernatural blessing would come upon their land, and they would have so much to eat and take care of them that they would not have to work in the seventh year.
Now notice everything revolves around the number seven. Have you gotten that already? Seven is the biblical number of perfection and completion. Because God rested on the seventh day, you’re going to notice that everything when it comes to the Sabbath will also be with the number seven. Last week, I talked to you about what’s called a Sabbath year. Every seven years, God instructed the Hebrews to leave the land alone. Something I didn’t tell you about last week was this: It said it was also called—if you’ve heard of it before—a shmitah. I feel weird every time I try to say it because I’m trying to say it the proper way. But it’s a shmitah. Leviticus 25:2, the New Living Translation, says, «God said to His people, 'When you have entered into the land that I am giving you'—this is the promised land—'the land itself must observe a Sabbath rest.'»
Last week, I also taught you this: that in the commandment to keep a Sabbath, God also said, «Hey, remember where you came from. Remember I brought you out of slavery, and slaves have no freedom; they have no rest. But I brought you out of slavery to give you rest. Always remember where you came from and what I’m leading you to.»
Because the people forgot—they forgot—and that’s why the children’s ministry is so important, to keep teaching biblical principles to our kids and have them excited about the truth of God’s word. Every generation needs to be raised up in the Lord, but especially right now in the culture that we live in. Because of 490 years of rejecting God, rebelling against God, guess what? God says, «Okay, you’re in control. I’ll let you have control.» Then, all of a sudden, they went back into captivity, and a king named Nebuchadnezzar came in. He’s the king of Babylon, and he took them and made them captives again until the kingdom of Persia came in. The Bible tells us it was 70 years. For 70 years, they were taken away from their land. Can you imagine?
70 years! God gave you this gift; for 490 years, you didn’t listen. Then they were taken into captivity. Now, 70 years you’re in captivity, and finally, the king of Persia allows them to go back to their land. This is found in 2 Chronicles 36:20–21. It says, «The few who survived were taken as exiles to Babylon, and they became servants to the king and his sons until the kingdom of Persia came into power.» But verse 21 is what lets us know that, hey, you know what? What God commands will take place because, as they were exiled, guess what happened? The land finally received its Sabbath rest as God had commanded.
Verse 21: «So the message of the Lord spoken through Jeremiah was fulfilled, and the land finally enjoyed its Sabbath rest, lying desolate until the 70 years were fulfilled.»
The Jubilee: Freedom from Debt
So I started looking into this and had to ask a question: Are these still consequences today? Is it still important to just lay off sometimes and trust God? Are there still consequences today when we keep moving? Yeah, we talked about physically; yeah, it could harm us mentally and all these things. But are there still consequences over the land, over the nation?
Some of you may remember this; maybe some of you have never heard about this. Around 2014, there was a Christian Jewish author by the name of Jonathan Cahn, and he wrote this book called «The Mystery of the Shemitah.» It was a big deal. Because of this book, everybody was talking about the Shemitah and what he felt took place was this: he felt God told him that America, as a nation, if America did not repent and run back to God and worship God, then judgment was going to come upon the nation, upon the land. He felt this warning so much that he started to study the Shemitah. Every seven years, he put together, in this book, what was taking place in America every seven years.
Here’s a little chart that pretty much goes in line with the book just to kind of give you an idea. It’s incredible what he found out through the research that every seven years, there seemed to be some type of financial crash or crisis within America. From 1966 all the way to 2008, every seven years, there was a financial crash. It crashed in 1966; the stock market dropped. Even in 2001, not only did the stock market crash again, but that was also the 9/11 attack. So, within his book, he’s telling everybody, «Here’s your warning: God is calling us back to Him as a nation. We’ve been asleep; we’ve drifted off, and church has become something you just show up to, and that’s about it. We sing praises but our hearts are far from God, and the culture’s just going this way, this way, this way, this way where nobody honors God anymore, and everybody’s rebelling. Nobody reads the Word of God.»
And here’s the good news out of that though: God has chosen you to stand up in this time. You should not have a spirit of fear because my God is still in control. In fact, the enemy has to get permission to do anything. So no matter what our culture looks like today or what’s happening in our nation, we are called to live in a time such as this to present the gospel and to live it out. It’s not on your own strength but on the strength of the Lord to follow through and to listen to His words to have that rest and that peace, even when we know sometimes judgment may come or something may take place.
But every time God gives a warning, it’s also His grace to show you, «Hey, this could be!» You see it throughout the Old Testament. Have you ever met somebody who’s like, «Hey, the Old Testament God seems a lot different from the New Testament God?» No, He’s not! Every time God issued a warning to His people, He said, «But if you just repent, if you just come back to Me, if you just worship My name…» You’re worshiping other gods, and you’re sacrificing children to these false gods. «Come back to Me, and I will set you free; I will protect you.»
So the book was really interesting, and he’s written a lot more since then. But I really wanted to look into it because now we’re studying this—the Shemitah, right? This year of rest and what that means. I wanted to ask another question: Why such serious consequences for what’s a gift? Why such serious consequences? Why such judgment over a gift that’s supposed to bless your life? How come the Israelites went back into captivity after 490 years of avoiding this gift, of avoiding being in the presence of God, and listening to His commands?
So I want to show you this point: the Jubilee was to free God’s people from all debt. The Jubilee was to free all of God’s people from all debt. Look to somebody next to you and tell them, «You’re debt-free!» How would that feel? You walk out of here like, «Did you mean it? Am I really taking your credit cards? Are you sure? I just want to make sure!» This is a biblical truth, and it’s really good. But God’s desire for your life—and I get it that Satan has twisted it and many pastors have misused this—God’s real desire for your life is to be debt-free, for Christ came to pay that price upon the cross for our sins to allow us to be forgiven. So I want you to see this today as the Jubilee gift. Some of you may be asking, «What is a Jubilee?» Look, I’m going to explain that in a second. But this is the big gift.
Y’all remember last week? The two presents were still over there: we had the Sabbath day; that was the little gift. The year of the Shemitah; that was the bigger gift. But now God’s bringing in the big boy: the Jubilee! Here’s My gift to My people: for all of you to be able to have rest! Not only did you have a year of rest with this prize, with this gift, but guess what? All of God’s people became debt-free! Erase your debt! In fact, if you are a Hebrew slave, you are allowed to go free. It was deliverance upon your life. You can now go back and even collect the land that you lost due to hardship. Isn’t it so different from our culture today? It’s so different because the world we live in, Satan is trying to trap us over and over again with debt.
«Hey, you need this; you gotta get that. If you want to look good, you gotta do this.» And you’re trying to keep up with everybody that by the end of the day you’re looking down like, «I got 10 credit cards to pay off,» and you got this debt, and sometimes you feel enslaved. So it was God’s command that in the year of the Jubilee, all debt is erased. My people are free, forgiven, and you will enjoy a peace and a rest.
So what I’m going to do is read this out of scripture and then I’m going to break it down. In Leviticus 25:8-10, the New Living Translation, God says, «In addition, you must count off seven Sabbath years—so seven Shemitah years, seven sets of seven years, adding up to 49 years in all. Then on the Day of Atonement—I’m going to explain that in a second—on the 50th year, blow the ram’s horns loud and long throughout the land.»
Verse 10: «It will become—or it will be—a jubilee year for you, when each of you may return to the land that belonged to your ancestors and return to your own clan.» Now, if you’re like me, a lot of times when you’re reading the Bible and you start to see numbers, you’re kind of like, «Okay, hold on! What? Seven times seven? Seven? Seven?» And you start to see all these things getting mixed up. So let me explain it the best I can.
Remember the Shemitah years? Every seven years is a land of rest. So they had seven years of seven Shemitahs, which would equal 49 years. Okay? So 49 years God gave them a year of rest. In the 50th year, everybody celebrated the big gift, this year, because the debt is wiped away! You’ve been made clean, and you can go back to your homeland. You can take back what used to be yours! Everybody is free! This was declaring that you are free from it all.
And what’s even more important is how God works: God is very specific on the days and the times that He does things, and this is part of the mystery. God is always revealing a mystery to His people because notice that this all took place on the Day of what? On the Day of Atonement in the 50th year, blow the ram’s horns on that day. What is the Day of Atonement? This is really cool! The Day of Atonement is known as the Sabbath above all Sabbaths. It is the holiest day of the year in Judaism, and it was a day where God’s people were completely commanded to rest, to fast, and to rely completely on God.
But most importantly, it also showed us that this was the day that our sins would be forgiven. They were commanded to fast from this day, symbolizing the taking away of sins—all pointing to Christ’s return. Something that’s really interesting that I would love to teach you guys one day from this stage, and my wife is actually doing a private teaching (shout out to her) on the feast days, as everything in the feast also was a view of prophecy that would take place later that Jesus would fulfill.
The Day of Atonement is a picture of Christ’s return. Jesus is coming back for us! That fulfillment that He’s coming to wipe us clean and to free us from our debt that He’s already paid—the price upon the cross—but He’s coming back for us! I want you to understand—I just kind of want you to see it—trumpets are sounding. Freedom is declared over the people. If you were a slave, now you got to go free! You got to go back to your family! If you lost property, guess what? If you had the deed, you can go back and get it!
They all saw this as an incredible gift from the outside, but when it was time to really receive it, they rejected it because they did not understand the mystery of what the gift really meant.
Jesus Declares the Jubilee
Now you could turn to Luke 4. Luke 4, and again, I gotta give you some more background. This is the passage of scripture where Jesus is in the synagogue; He’s in His hometown of Nazareth, okay? What I love about this is that He comes into the synagogue on the Sabbath day on purpose. He grabs the scrolls and opens it up to Isaiah.
Listen, Isaiah is a big book, so He knows exactly what He’s doing and how He’s going to do this. What’s very interesting that a lot of people don’t know is Nazareth was a very small town. You remember it was said, «Can anything good come from Nazareth?» That’s because it was a very small town where everybody knew everybody’s business, right? Everybody knew who you were, who your mom was, who your dad was, who your sister was, who your brother was, what you did for a living. So when Jesus steps into the synagogue in Nazareth and opens up the scroll, people are like, «Who does He think He is? Like, isn’t He Joseph and Mary’s son? Who does He think He is?»
Let me show you Matthew 13:54–55. When He taught there in the synagogue, everyone was amazed and said, «Where does He get this wisdom from? Who does He think He is?» They scoffed. «He’s just a carpenter’s son! We know Mary, His mother, and His brothers: James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas. All of His sisters live right here among us!» Have you ever experienced that before? God’s completely changed your life; you’re a different person, but you go back home or you go back to old friends, and they’re like, «Oh, you’re a Christian now, huh? You’re not talking the way you used to talk. I know things that you used to do,» and all this, and you go back and see family, and they still look at you the same way. Like, «No! I’m different!»
And it can be really frustrating, huh? It can be super frustrating! Like, «No, listen! I am not the same person! I’m not playing a game! Jesus has really changed my life! I’ve been set free and delivered!» Let me help you out. Here’s how I want to encourage you with this: if you’re dealing with that or the struggles, let your present today speak louder than your past. You don’t even have to use words, but let your present today speak louder than your past.
Let your actions today speak louder than your actions did in the past. You’ll notice this: the same people that mocked you start texting you or reaching out, saying, «Hey, how did you do that?» So what happens is the enemy tries to twist it. Well, we think we’re going into battle, «Let me prove to you who I am.» No, no! Don’t do that! I gotta prove nothing to you! God’s already set me free from you too, and I’m going to live it out. But now, because I’m not allowing my anger and my frustration to get the best of me, I get to be a witness of His glory and this goodness—His deliverance and how He sets us free.
By living it out today speaks louder than your past. But we know that Jesus was perfect, right? We know that Jesus didn’t make any mistakes. But even in the small town of Nazareth, the Bible is very clear Jesus did not perform His first miracle until He was how old? Thirty. He was 30 years of age at the point where He was at the wedding, and His mom asked Him to turn the water into wine because a wedding lasted for days. It was very, very bad if the wine went out.
So she asked him to do this miracle. In John 2:11, it states, «This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed His glory.» So imagine Jesus is growing up in this small town. He doesn’t perform a miracle until He’s 30 years old, which is common, because in the Jewish culture, you were not a man until you were 30. That’s really how they saw it. You were not a man; you were not allowed to really speak out or anything until you were 30 years of age.
In fact, here’s what’s kind of cool about Authentic Church: God spoke to me and my wife, and we always knew that it would start when I hit 30. And that’s exactly what took place. As I hit 30, God started forming what Authentic Church is today. But here’s how bad it is because you get frustrated with family members or other people doubting you or whatever, even Jesus' brothers did not believe Him. They did not believe in Him—John 7:5. For even His brothers did not believe in Him.
It was hard for them to see it because He waited so long to do a miracle. If He’s the Son of God, and they were all expecting Him to do all these things so early on. But He was obeying the Lord. We know that Jude, His half-brother, did come and believe in Him because he wrote the book of Jude in the New Testament. So Jesus is walking into the synagogue of His hometown, and He picks up the book of Isaiah—the scroll of Isaiah—and He starts revealing to the Jews a mystery— a mystery that was hidden about the Jubilee, about rest, about what the Sabbath really meant.
Point 1: Jesus is Your Jubilee
So here’s what I want to do: as I read this to you, I want to break it down by two points before you leave today. Point number one is this: Jesus is stating, «I am now your Jubilee.» Jesus walked into the synagogue, and we kind of see why they were offended, why they were shocked, because they thought that they knew Him so well—even His brothers did not believe in Him—and now He’s getting up there; He’s reading out of the scroll and He’s saying, «I am now your Jubilee.» What does that mean?
Let’s look at what He read in Luke 4:18–19, Amplified Version: «The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,» Jesus said, «because He has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to announce the release of forgiveness to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind to set free those who are oppressed, those who are bruised, those who are crushed by tragedy. God the Father has sent me.» And people could not believe that they were hearing this!
And then—listen to this—this is where it gets really good; this is how it connects to rest, the Sabbath, and Jubilee. He reveals a mystery. He says, «I’ve come to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord,» and He did this on purpose. He did this on purpose! What is the favorable year of the Lord? It is the year of the Jubilee!
The Jews knew that! So what He’s stating is, He’s saying, «I am your Shemitah! I am your Jubilee! I have come to free you! I have come to deliver you! I have come to give you rest!» This joyful gift that you’ve been celebrating for so long is here to be fulfilled! Jesus was revealing something really important because what can happen over time? People can become very religious. They love the way the gift looks on the outside, and it has to look like this and on this day, at this time, and you’re just going through the motions and through the motions and through the motions.
But when God is actually revealing the mystery of what it meant, a lot of people’s minds and hearts were so hardened they wouldn’t accept the true gift that God was giving them. Jesus is saying, «I am here before you!» In fact, He stated this after He was done. In Luke 4:21, He stated this: «Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing,» and they couldn’t believe it! The Jews always celebrated the gift from the outside, but they rejected the gift of rest from the inside! He’s saying, «I’ve come! Everything that you’ve been desiring, everything that you’ve been hoping for and longing for, I’m here to save you, to save you of your sins!»
While you celebrate these feasts in the first place, you’re noticing the gift, but you’re not really grasping the gift. You’re putting the importance in the wrong thing.
Personal Testimony: Discovering the True Gift
I started to think about this because a lot of you know our story—we’ve told you many times we moved out here on faith from Louisiana. I’ve shared this many times, but I remember on the drive here—I remember that night; the whole family was asleep except Titus because that boy never sleeps, and he kept talking. But I remember looking at my family; everybody’s pretty much asleep. I’m saying, «God, am I doing the right thing? This seems crazy! You’re calling us out here to do this work, to do this ministry.»
At that time, I didn’t even know it was going to be Authentic; I just knew God was calling us out here. I struggled with God: «Is He faithful, or is He just irresponsible?» Because we had a child with a medical condition and all these things. But what I noticed is that through the whole process— to be honest with you, I thought my gift that was going to get me by was preaching. I put everything on preaching because it was the gift that God had given me. It was a gift that I felt so close with God. It’s something that God really delivered me and matured me in, and I felt comfortable in His presence being able to preach.
So a lot of times, through the whole faith process, I’m like, «Alright, gotta preach, gotta preach, gotta preach the house down! Gotta show them what I can do, gotta preach, gotta preach!» and I put all this pressure on me. I look pretty from the outside. Big box, by the way—PBC means Pastor Bobby Chandler! Somebody told me to clarify that for you guys, right? Just in case you thought it was something else; it’s not that!
Where was I? Anyway, I thought the gift was preaching. Through that faith process for almost a year, God took that gift away, and He didn’t allow me to preach. It killed me because I was always called to be a preacher and preach. I ended up doing all these other things—all kinds of assignments, and getting stuff, and making sure ministry’s running, and getting food, and setting up stuff, and all these things. That’s great, God, but my gift is preaching, and you’re not allowing me to do it!
He took it away to show me that He was still in control and moving along. If you know the story, well, then all of a sudden God told us, «It’s time; it’s time for Authentic to be planted.» I said, «All right! How do we do this?» I remember running inside from mowing the yard; God told me to film it. Christy’s so used to it now; she’s like, «Okay, do whatever you want to!» All right, so we started filming. I felt like it was all coming back.
We had many conversations where I felt like, «I feel like I don’t know how to preach anymore!» It was hard to hear from God and it was weird writing them. I just couldn’t do it. What used to come seemed so easier—trust me, it’s never easy—but easier felt like I couldn’t really communicate or speak what I wanted to. I’m like, «God, what do I do?» I’ve told you this, but I’m going to tell it in a different way today.
It was that night, in my house, I walked out in the backyard; the stars are out. I look up to God; I said, «Look, if you want this to happen, you gotta do it! You gotta do it! I don’t have it! I thought this was my gift, and I just don’t know how to make this happen!» It was the very next day that God opened up the doors and made everything possible for Authentic Church to be in Hickory today when I released it from my control into His hands. But what He did was this: He said, «This is the gift that I have given you, but the true gift is on the inside.»
As I opened up the gift, it was that night that I realized, «Yeah, preaching is something special, and it’s amazing.» But God was actually telling me to walk into the gift! The true gift that changes our lives. I’m going to step in. That’s gonna be weird for a second. You can’t see me; I hope you can hear me. But God was telling me, «The true gift is My presence!»
It’s His presence that even though sometimes I’m scared and frustrated and I’m doubting and I don’t know what to do, I put all my strength on what I thought was my gift, and God was saying, «Okay, if you think that’s what’s gonna get you by, let me take it away for a season, and I’m gonna open up the gift and show you that the true mystery—that what I have for you, My presence will fulfill you and sustain you!»
And there, and only there, in My presence will you witness and feel complete rest and enjoy peace! And you know what? Because I can rest in the Lord, I can preach better! I’m not saying that about my own ability or anything, I’m just saying that instead of stressing out on everybody liking me or liking the sermon, I’m back there saying, «God, just I want to please You.» And it gives me a peace to be able to preach every week and to speak into your lives.
God is telling you the same thing—dads in the room! Like I said, there might be something right now you’re struggling with—God is saying, «Give it over to Me! We got it! It’s My presence!» Jesus was stating this: «You know what? I am the Jubilee!» What does the Jubilee do? It came to set the poor free! I have come to set the poor debt-free! I’ve come to announce freedom and deliverance! I’ve come to help you see if you feel blind! I’ve come to deliver those who are oppressed through fear! Your problems do not scare God!
Point 2: Jesus Returns as the Lion of Judah
This is what’s really cool—and there’s more! Jesus is always so smart and creative! It’s cool! He’s saying that I’ve come as the Lamb, because the RAM commands that you believe! Because I’ve sacrificed myself for your sins—the Lamb of God, right? John 1:29—“Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!» Now stand up on this one! I’m going to reveal one more thing to you—last point! He’s the Lamb of God! He came to sacrifice Himself for us to forgive us of our sins! But point number two: Jesus is also returning as the Lion of Judah! Come on! Can we give a hand on that one? It gives me chills!
Listen to this: Revelation 5:5: «Stop weeping! Stop stressing! Stop being so scared! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, He has already won victory!» Can we celebrate His holy name?! Jesus said, «Remember,» He said this, «I came to fulfill this!» Now, He stopped though in Luke 4:19 to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord. Is that where Isaiah stops? No!
Jesus is so cool! I’m a nerd! Amen! Who said amen to that? I love that! That’s fine! Isaiah 61:2 — «To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance and retribution of our God.» What is the day of vengeance? Tribulation! God’s judgment on all evil and the return of Christ to finish the job!
Jesus said, «I came as the Lamb to be sacrificed for forgiveness so that you may have peace! But you can also trust that I am the Lion of Judah, and all evil will be punished, all evil, all sickness, all the things that stress you out and give you anxiety! Rest in Me! The mystery gift-all your Sabbaths point to Me!» And one day, this world will be completely restored! Hallelujah!
