Bill Winston — The WOW Factor
We have a teaching called, "Fulfilling your dominion mandate". This is a powerful teaching. Why? Because we go back to Genesis chapter 1, verse 26, "And God said, 'Let us make man in our image after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the fowl of the air, over the cattle and over all the Earth and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the Earth,'" so God gave mankind dominion. This word, "dominion," I mean, it implies a lot. It implies the fact of ownership, of you actually having governorship over all this Earth and don't have to be accountable to anybody but God. I mean, it's a powerful teaching.
Now, this dominion says that God, wherever we are sent, wants us to bring every place under heaven's government. That's what it's all about. See, he's gonna give you an assignment that perhaps he won't give me. You might be a lawyer or you might be a school teacher or you might be a stay at home mom or dad or whatever your portion is, God wants you to have dominion in that sphere of influence. Now, he's gonna take you and make your name great. The Bible said, "Let your light so shine that men may see your good works and glorify your father". He's gonna give you the anointing and the power to demonstrate his government. Isn't that powerful? Get your Bibles and pencils and papers ready let's go into it. It's called "Fulfilling your dominion mandate".
So here's Adam. He fell. Now, what did he lose? He lost his mind. What did Jesus come to do? Get it back. Came to get it back, but he first wanted to show you how to live, okay? In verse 3 of Isaiah, chapter 11, he said something here. He said, "And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord". Fear means "reverent respect," okay? It's not terror, in this sense. Let's take off from there because this is what I want to hit first because he restored my soul. This is very, very key. He's restored my soul.
So, if I look at Samson's life in Judges, I'm gonna put a scripture up here. Now, watch this, because I want you to get a revelation of this. See, while I'm talking to you, the Holy Ghost is talking to you. Alright? Look at it. "And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words and urged him so that his soul was vexed unto death". This is Samson now, and what's the woman's name? Delilah, okay? "That he told her all is hard and said unto her, 'There has not come a razor upon my head, for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb.'" He was separated unto God, okay?
Now, he was a judge in Israel at that time. "If it be shaven, then my strength will go from me and I shall become weak and be like any other man". Watch the scripture. "If my head is shaven, my anointing will leave". Now, that's the same anointing you got, "And I'll be like" what? Any other man, but what did he describe that any other man as being? Weak. Compared to you, anybody that's an unbeliever is weak. Isn't that good? They couldn't hold a candle to you. God even gives you the spirit of might. One man said the spirit of might is the ability to do anything. You even see, I'll show you where the prophet outran a chariot. Can you imagine going down the highway, going down the expressway, or going down the Eisenhower or Stephenson and a guy just running beside you and smiling at you while he passes you? That's the spirit of might.
Y'all laughing. "Man, that's funny". That ain't funny. I mean, that's the truth. I want you to get this because I'm talking slow and giving the Holy Spirit a time to talk to you because look at 1 John chapter 2 and verse 27, because that's basically what he does. He said this, "Both the anointing which you have received of him abideth" where? "In you, and you need not any man," what? "Teach you, but the same anointing teaches you of all things". That's why you can read a Forbes magazine and read a business article and start getting anointing, start getting revelation out of it. See, you saw something that the author didn't even see. The writer didn't even see. Why? Because that anointing is working with you. You can be in the same class in the MBA program at Harvard University as the rest of them, but because you are a believer and because you have the anointing, you can see something that instructor can't even see as he goes through this forum. Do y'all believe this?
So, let's look at Job now, in chapter 32. "In Elihu the son of Barakel the Buzite answered and said, 'I'm young and you're very old, wherefore I was afraid and dost not show you my opinion.'" Dost is kind of an old English word. It's what I use sometimes when I get deep. "Dost not you know you are crazy"? No, no. No, I shouldn't say that. Okay, watch this, watch this. I said, "They should speak in multitude of years, should teach wisdom". Watch this, "But there's a spirit in man and the inspiration of the almighty giveth them understanding. Great men are not always wise. Neither do the age understand judgment. Therefore I said, 'Harken to me. I also will show my opinion.'"
Now, let's go back through there and look at it in the Message. This is what Elihu, the son of Barakel, the Buzite, said. "I'm a young man and you are all old in experience. That's why I kept quiet and I held back from joining the discussion. I kept thinking, 'Experience will tell. The longer you live, the wiser you become,' but I see I was wrong. It's God's Spirit in a person. The breath of the almighty one that makes wise human insight possible". The experts have no corner on wisdom. Getting old doesn't guarantee good sense. Oh Lord, have mercy. Let me read... Put that back, let me read that again. I must have misread that. Yes, that's what it says. "Getting old doesn't guarantee good sense".
Okay, okay, okay, go ahead. "I decided to speak up. Listen. I'm going to tell you exactly what I," what? Think. He found out he could download. He found out that he could go to a place and a company where people have been working for 30 years and he could know more than them because he's anointed and compared to a natural man, they are weak. Isn't that exciting? Now, folks, all this happens by the anointing and the way the anointing is released is by faith. Say "amen" to that. What is God gonna do? He's gonna send you to places. That is your assignment. Say "amen" to this. Whatever your assignment is, that's when this anointing is gonna kick in. Don't try to make all this happen and you're out of the will of God. That assignment is wherever God takes you.
Look at Esther. Her assignment was to be in the palace of the king. Let me tell you, when it was time for the download, it came, because not only did Esther have to rise up, because you remember what her uncle Mordecai had said. "Hey, Esther, go before the king and intercede for Israel so that they won't be destroyed". Esther said, "I can't go unless I've been invited". He said, "Esther, girl, if you don't go, God's gonna pick somebody else and your house is gonna... God is gonna come to your house". Esther got up and fasted three days and got her royal apparel. You know, got a shawl like me. Got a shawl. Shawl, and walked on in there and went right in there, unannounced.
Notice what happened. The anointing of favor kicked in. Pow. When favor's on you, boy, can't nobody touch you, man. Can't nobody stop you. That anointing of favor kicked in and then she touched the scepter and here's what the king said. "Esther, what do you want? Make your request and I'll give it to you up to," come on, "half of my king," and Esther, now, notice what she came in there. She knew that wicked Haman had made those bad laws to kill the Jews, but notice, she didn't go in there just making accusations, see? Why? Because that's not wisdom. The spirit of intelligence. How do I know that? Let's go back to Amplified Bible of Job, chapter 32 and verse 8 in the Amplified translation please. "But there is a vital force, a spirit of intelligence," so you are smarter than you think. Say "amen". You have potential to dominate this Earth. Doesn't make any difference what the problem is. You are a problem solver.
Alright, let's do the last part. Now, here is the anointing. It's coming now. Acts chapter 1, please, and that's where we kind of ended up last time. In Acts chapter 1, glory to God, here is Jesus appearing before the disciples before he left the Earth. This is after his resurrection. Verse 4, "And being assembled together, he, with them, he commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem but wait for the promise of the Father, which said he, 'You've heard of me, for John truly baptized with water but you shall be baptized with the,'" who? "Holy Ghost, not many days from now. When they, therefore, will come together, they asked him, saying, 'Lord, will thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel,' and he said unto them, 'It is not for you to know the time or the seasons which the Father has put in his own power, but you shall receive,'" help me. Say "miracle working ability". "After that, the Holy Ghost has Come upon you, and you shall be," what? Witnesses. Underline it. "Unto me both in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and unto the uttermost parts of the Earth".
Chapter 2, verse 1. "When the days of Pentecost will fully come, they will all, with one accord and one place, and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as a rushing, mighty wind, and it filled all the place where they were sitting, and there appeared unto them cloven tongues as a fire that set upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance. "They that were at Jerusalem, Jews, devout men out of every nation unto heaven, now when this was noise abroad, the multitudes came together and were confounded because that every man heard them speak in his own language, and they said, 'We're all amazed,' and marveled, saying one to another, 'Behold, are not all these which speak,'" come on, "Galileans? How hear we every man in our own tongue wherein we were born? Parthians, Medes, Elamites and that dwells in Mesopotamia and Judea and also Cappadocia and Pontus and Asia and Phrygia and Pamphylia and Egypt and in all parts Libya, about Cyrene and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Secretes and Arabians, I do hear them speak in our tones, the wonderful works of God and they were all," what? "Amazed".
Now, if you look in chapter 3, a man who was lame from his mother's womb got healed. Peter and John passed by and the man asked for alms and got legs. No, he asked for alms and Peter said, "Silver and gold have I none but such as I have give I thee in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk". Boom, man jumped up on his feet, leaping and praising God and they were all amazed. That incident caused the first church to start out with 3,000 members. Say "amazing". No, no, let's say the right word today. "Wow".
Notice what God is after. See, when you go to Disney World or somewhere like that and you see there's no litter on the ground, or you see all the things done in excellence, people have left there and said, "Wow," and they want to come back. Say "amen". Over in John chapter 6 in verse 1, he said, "After these things, Jesus went up over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias," watch this, "And great multitudes followed him because they saw the miracles which he did on them were diseased". Somebody say, "Wow". Man. See, what the church needs to understand is that we were built to make people say, "Wow". Wow. Can't you see it?
Now. Look at Peter over in Luke chapter 5. I don't know what verse it is, but as you go on down there, "Peter pulled in a boat sinking, net breaking load of fish, fell down at Jesus's knees and then he said, "Away from me, I'm a sinful man, oh Lord," and he was astonished and all that were with him at the draught of fishes that they had taken," say "wow" somebody. Look at the next verse. "He said, And so was also James and John, the sons of Zebedee, of partners with Simon, Jesus said to Simon, 'Fear not. From hence forth, thou shall catch men.'" Watch this, watch this, "And when they brought the ships to land, they departed from them ships and followed Jesus. Why? Because of the "wow". People need to see a "wow" in your life.
What has happened to the "wow" in the church? The church used to be an epicenter of invention. It used to be a place where miracles would break out all the time. Even Gideon said, "If God be with us, where are all the miracles"? Well, the miracle's about to happen. Folks, it's about to be people who had had a kidney removed because it had gone bad and now they're gonna come into a church service and they're gonna go back to the doctor and he's gonna take x-ray and say, "Wow". Come on, people who knew your marriage was never solid, you were fussing all the time, all of a sudden they're gonna see you hand in hand, walking down, just grinning and smiling and kissing each other and they're gonna say, "Wow". Come on, people been looking for a husband for 15 years. Oh, I better not cover that one. Wow.
Can't you see what I'm saying? I'm saying it's time for "wow". That's what people are looking for. See, when they don't have the "wow," they go to false gods, but it's time for the supernatural. It's time for God's people to show that God is with us. You've been broke all your life and all of a sudden all the things that God has blessed you with, you've got apartment buildings. Come on, you've got investments. People are gonna have to say, "Wow". Can't you see what I'm talking about? It's time for the wow to come back. I believe this year, before December 31st, in your life, somebody is gonna say "wow". Give God praise. Give him a hand. Clap for God. Come on, give him a hand clap. Wow.
Folks, I just know how those armies felt when a little 17 Folks, I just know how those armies felt when a little 17 year old boy came to the front line. He said, "What are you all afraid of"? They said, "Hey, it's big Goliath out here". He said, "Oh, I can take that guy". He said, "Oh, get back there and keep those sheep". He worked his way all the way up there and he came up to that front line and here is this big guy, said, "You little runt, you come to me"? He said, "No," he said, "Goliath, this day shall the Lord deliver you into my hand. Now, to prove to you that it's just not some kind of a fluke, I'm gonna also feed the whole army behind you to the buzzards of the air". Somebody say "wow". No, no, no, no, no, compared to what they are to what you are, that's weak. We're not talking down to them. We're just saying they don't have what you have. You can do the impossible and you have become unstoppable. Say "wow".
Well praise God. I trust that you enjoyed that teaching. Now, let's go over a couple points that you might want to remember. Number one is that the anointing that God places on your life, once you become born again, spirit-filled, that he places on your life, compared to anybody in the world, they are weak. In other words, I didn't say that now. Here's what he says over in Judges chapter 16 and verse 17. He says, "When Samson loses that anointing that was on his life, he became weak and like any other man". Now, this is talking about Samson, talking about if he loses that anointing, he'll become weak like any other man. I didn't tell you that, the Bible said it, so compared to a Spirit-filled believer who is anointed for miracles and supernatural ability, the world, the Bible describes as being weak. They can't solve the problems that you can solve, they can't lay hand on the sick in Jesus' name and they recover, they can't stop storms. Praise God. I've said look at what you've got.
Now, number two, the church was built to manifest the word "wow". Glory to God. Now, that's what I taught in this particular teaching. Wow. What I use is going to Disney World or Disneyland. People see it and they see the animation. They see no paper or anything on the ground and they see how the land is manicured and how the people are so excellent and they walk away and say, "Wow, we want to come back". Well, that's the way it should be at your church. That's the way it should be in your life. People want to see you again and say, "Wow". This is Bill Winston. That's all we have for this time.
