Bill Johnson - The Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind
Romans chapter 12 is the cornerstone passage on the renewed mind. Jesus, of course, illustrates the renewed mind. I don't know if you have ever made a list of how different His way of thinking is from ours, but we are not close. What I've noticed is that we're not really close. It's like He thinks you live by dying—can you believe that? He thinks you receive by giving. He says you're exalted by going low, and He just keeps pulling this stuff out of there. Then He does things in the scripture that I was thinking about over one this week, and I actually talk about it fairly often, especially if I'm discussing finances.
There is so much vile thinking in culture right now regarding money. I realize this isn't only about money, but I remember when Jesus took the talent from the guy who did nothing with it and gave it to the person who had the most. I hate the security, but what if our tax system was like that? Because that's the way He thinks. Here's the challenge I want to make: I'm not dealing with money; I'm talking about the way Jesus dealt with situations in the Bible. Until I can see what He just said and did, and with conviction say, "Amen," I do not see it correctly.
