Rabbi Schneider - Through Jesus, Our Messiah
TOPICS: Rabbi Schneider: Devotions

Baruch Hashem bless the Name of the Lord. We are in the midst of the Passover season, which is closely connected to the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Technically, Passover lasts one day, and then it's immediately followed by the seven days of Unleavened Bread. But culturally, today, most people just refer to the entire eight days as Passover.

Unleavened Bread celebrates the time, or rather, is a memory of what happened to ancient Israel on the night that the Lord delivered them from Egypt The Lord told them, I'm going to call you out of Egypt tonight, and when you hear Me call to you to leave, I want you to immediately get up, arise, and follow Me. And if your bread is baking, don't wait for to leaven Just immediately get up and follow Me out.

And so we remember that on the night of the Passover, the children of Israel left Egypt with their bread yet unleavened. Get this now: They had to obey in haste. They had to leave in haste, meaning that as soon as they heard God's Word, bam, they had to immediately obey. And so the Feast of Unleavened Bread is really about perfect obedience. Jesus is the fulfillment of Unleavened Bread because He gave Himself up as our Passover Lamb. He is the perfect One that was perfectly obedient to the Father.

And when He celebrated Passover the night before His crucifixion with His disciples, He lifted up the traditional Passover matzah. He broke it and said, This is my body broken for you. Beloved, Jesus loves us today. He's given His life for us. Let's follow Him out all the way out into absolute freedom and victory.
