Creflo Dollar — Developing Your Use of Faith
Now, here's the thing I think needs to be explained so, you know, we can really gain concept of what I'm sharing here tonight. There is a difference between human faith and supernatural, God kind of faith.
I remember being in church and I remember people using this. I might have used it a couple of times myself, but I've reconsidered it. You've ever heard people say, "Well, you know, we all have faith because, you know, it takes faith to sit in that chair. We all have faith because, you know, it takes faith to ride in that airplane. We all have faith because it takes faith to ride in that car. You don't know, you could have an accident any day." That's human faith.
What is human faith? Human faith is based on sense knowledge. Now, watch this. Yeah, you have faith to sit in that chair; but if you see that that chair is missing a leg, you won't sit in it. Yeah, you have faith to get on that airplane; but if you see that that airplane is smoking and hear that that engine is making noise, you ain't getting on that airplane.
Yeah, you have faith to get in the car; but if you see another car rolling down towards you, you're not gonna go through that light because you see what's coming. So we have human faith that's based on sense knowledge. It's based on what you can comprehend in the sense realm. And now that determines what you do or what you don't do.
And so as long as your senses don't pick nothing up, then human faith says, "Then I'll go ahead and take a chance in getting in the car, getting in the airplane, and sitting in the chair." But human faith also says, "But if I see something wrong and not quite right, I'll change my mind about doing that."
Does everybody understand? So now, what's the difference between human faith and supernatural, God kind of faith? Supernatural, God kind of faith isnotbased on sense knowledge; it's based on Word of God knowledge. Supernatural, God kind of faith says that you move and believe something because the Word said it, regardless of what it looks like.
So how it looks and what you're picking up in your senses will not determine how you respond. Human faith, how it looks, smells, what it feels like, determines how you respond. Supernatural faith does not, will not, and is not moved by sense knowledge. Glory be to God. It's only moved by Word knowledge. Glory be to God.
